About the role

Brightstone Education Partners is supporting a thriving primary school in Newbury to recruit an exceptional Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). The role involves working closely with teachers to raise pupil attainment, delivering targeted interventions and covering classes when teachers are absent.

Key responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across the school.
• Deliver targeted interventions and small‑group support.
• Provide one‑to‑one assistance to pupils as required.
• Cover lessons in the absence of teachers.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Support pupils with varying learning needs.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school.

Required profile

• Experience working within a primary school setting.
• HLTA status or equivalent experience.
• Passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Proactive, flexible and organised.
• High expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour.
