Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Mondays off

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive primary school in Harrow. The role offers Mondays off and the chance to support children individually and in small groups, fostering confidence and achievement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils, helping them engage with the curriculum.
• Lead classroom activities and deliver lessons in the teacher’s absence.
• Design and deliver inclusive learning activities that celebrate each child’s strengths.
• Support pupils with additional needs, offering patience, encouragement and tailored assistance.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to plan and adapt lessons.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or equivalent role.
• Passion for inclusive education and a commitment to helping every child succeed.
• Strong interpersonal skills, warmth and a sense of humour.
• Reliability, dedication and the ability to maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.

Required skills

• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Ability to lead small groups and deliver lessons independently.
