Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Part Time (2 days/week)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Highbridge to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant on a part‑time basis (two days per week). The successful candidate will support pupils’ learning across the primary age range, delivering lessons and providing targeted assistance to help children achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons in the teacher’s absence.
• Support teaching and learning throughout the school.
• Work with small groups and individual pupils to accelerate progress.
• Assist in planning and preparing engaging learning activities.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Support children with a range of learning needs and abilities.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

Required profile

• HLTA status or equivalent experience in a similar role.
• Experience working within a primary school setting.
• Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team.
