Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Primary (Full‑Time)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a primary school in Greater Manchester. The role starts in September and offers a full‑time, temporary placement supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons during teacher PPA, meetings and absences.
• Lead whole‑class teaching when required.
• Provide targeted interventions in English, maths and phonics.
• Support pupils with SEND, autism, ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs.
• Collaborate with teachers to assess progress and adapt learning materials.
• Promote positive behaviour and maintain effective classroom routines.
• Contribute to extracurricular clubs, trips and enrichment activities.

Required profile

• HLTA status or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience leading whole‑class learning.
• Confidence teaching across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Flexible, proactive attitude and commitment to improving outcomes.
