Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Primary School, Clapham (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Clapham, Lambeth. The role starts in September 2026 and involves delivering lessons and targeted interventions across all key stages.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons to whole classes during teachers’ PPA time.
• Lead small‑group and one‑to‑one intervention sessions to support pupil progress.
• Collaborate with teachers to ensure continuity and consistency in learning.
• Contribute to planning, assessment and classroom management as required.
• Support pupils’ social and emotional development in line with the school’s values.
• Provide class cover when teaching staff are absent.

Required profile

• Qualified HLTA with at least one year of experience.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Confidence in leading whole‑class lessons and delivering engaging instruction.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Flexible, positive attitude and commitment to children’s learning and wellbeing.
