Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Full‑Time)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in Sittingbourne. The role covers Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, providing targeted support to help pupils reach their full potential in a nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality learning activities to individuals, small groups and whole classes under the direction of the class teacher.
• Support teaching and learning across both KS1 and KS2.
• Lead intervention programmes to accelerate pupil progress.
• Manage and promote positive behaviour, maintaining high expectations and a calm learning atmosphere.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to meet the needs of all learners.
• Contribute to assessment, planning and the wider life of the school.

Required profile

• Holds a recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent relevant qualification.
• Recent experience working in a primary school setting across KS1 and KS2.
• Strong behaviour management skills and confidence to lead groups independently.
• Ability to inspire, motivate and engage children of varying abilities.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare.
