Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Gloucester)

About the role

Academics is seeking an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Gloucester. This temporary, full‑time position offers the chance to work across several year groups, support learning across the curriculum, and collaborate closely with teaching staff to help pupils make strong progress.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons across a range of year groups.
• Provide PPA cover when required.
• Support small groups and individual pupils to achieve their potential.
• Promote positive behaviour and effective classroom management.
• Assist with monitoring and tracking pupil progress.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to maintain high standards.

Required profile

• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience covering whole classes.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
