Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Primary School

About the role

Aspire People is recruiting Higher Level Teaching Assistants to support primary schools in Manchester and the surrounding area. The role involves delivering planned lessons, providing 1:1 and small‑group interventions, and covering whole‑class sessions when required, helping teachers to maintain high standards of learning and behaviour.

Key responsibilities

• Providing whole‑class cover when required
• Delivering planned lessons and learning activities
• Leading 1:1 and small‑group interventions
• Supporting teachers with planning and classroom organisation
• Working across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 depending on experience
• Supporting pupils with SEND and additional needs
• Maintaining high standards of behaviour and learning
• Collaborating with teachers and school leadership

Required profile

• HLTA qualification or strong equivalent experience
• Recent experience within a UK primary school
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
• Confident classroom management
• Ability to work independently and use initiative
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
