Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Primary School, Lewisham

About the role

We are seeking a confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join an outstanding primary school in Lewisham from September. The role is full‑time and temporary, offering the chance to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 while delivering pre‑planned lessons.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver whole‑class and small‑group lessons across the curriculum.
• Provide targeted support to pupils to maintain engagement and progress.
• Collaborate closely with class teachers and senior leaders.
• Assist with behaviour management and create a positive learning environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HLTA or similar teaching support role in a primary setting.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to the school’s inclusive ethos and high expectations.

Required skills

• Experience delivering pre‑planned learning in primary classrooms.
• Effective pupil engagement techniques.
