Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Manchester)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support primary schools in Manchester from September 2026. The role involves taking on additional classroom responsibilities, delivering interventions, and providing whole‑class cover when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Provide whole‑class cover as required.
• Deliver planned lessons and learning activities.
• Lead 1:1 and small‑group interventions.
• Support teachers with classroom organisation and preparation.
• Work across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 depending on experience.
• Support pupils with SEND and additional needs.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback.
• Promote positive behaviour and classroom routines.
• Help pupils develop confidence and independence.

Required profile

• HLTA qualification or strong equivalent experience.
• Recent experience working within a UK primary school.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Confident classroom and behaviour management.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive and professional approach.
