Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Year 4 Interventions

About the role

Academics is looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Chatham. The role focuses on delivering targeted small‑group interventions and one‑to‑one support for Year 4 pupils, helping them progress across the Key Stage 2 curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality small‑group teaching and interventions for Year 4 pupils.
• Provide tailored one‑to‑one support for a pupil with autism, anxiety and sensory processing needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to design, implement and assess learning activities.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, giving feedback to teachers and the wider team.
• Promote an inclusive, positive and nurturing learning environment.

Required profile

• Hold HLTA status or equivalent qualifications and experience.
• Proven experience in a primary school setting, especially with KS2 curriculum.
• Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly autism and anxiety.
• Strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to inclusion and safeguarding.
