Highway Supervisor / Foreman – Major Motorway Project

About the role

You will join a leading UK infrastructure provider to supervise a high‑profile motorway scheme in Scotland. The role focuses on delivering safe, efficient and compliant works while supporting the maintenance and improvement of a critical transport route.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day site operations and ensure work is delivered to project specifications.
• Coordinate internal teams and manage subcontractors to maintain progress.
• Plan works, conduct site inspections and resolve operational issues.
• Monitor quality, safety and environmental compliance throughout the project.
• Maintain accurate progress records and keep the programme on track.

Required profile

• Proven supervisory experience in highways, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of CDM regulations, site safety and quality standards.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, method statements and risk assessments.
• Proactive problem‑solving and decision‑making approach.
• Relevant qualifications such as SSSTS/SMSTS, NRSWA or equivalent.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.
