About the role
We are looking for a Highways Planner to join a well‑established regional contractor based in Chelmsford. The role will support the delivery of multiple planning schemes across the Southern region, offering excellent exposure and long‑term opportunity.
Key responsibilities
- Support the delivery of multiple planning schemes across the Southern region.
- Prepare and manage planning applications through the full life‑cycle.
- Liaise with internal teams, external consultants and local authorities.
- Provide strategic planning advice to support project delivery.
- Monitor planning policy and ensure compliance across schemes.
- Contribute to programme timelines and project coordination.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a planning role, ideally within a contractor, developer or consultancy.
- Strong understanding of UK planning legislation and processes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workload effectively.
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
- Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
