Hire Controller – Customer‑focused Equipment Hire Management

About the role

The Hire Controller will ensure smooth, efficient operation of Mainline Group's equipment hire service. Working in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment, you will manage the full hire lifecycle from enquiry to delivery and return.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for hire enquiries via phone, email and in‑person.
• Prepare accurate quotations and hire agreements based on pricing and equipment availability.
• Coordinate delivery and collection of equipment with transport and operations teams.
• Liaise with the workshop to confirm equipment readiness and safety compliance.
• Process off‑hire requests, extensions and contract amendments promptly.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records in the hire management system and ensure procedural compliance.
• Proactively identify opportunities to maximise fleet utilisation.
• Handle customer issues professionally, escalating when necessary.
