Hire Controller

About the role

Our client in Ascot is seeking an organised, proactive and customer‑focused Hire Controller to manage two plant‑hire sites.

Key responsibilities

• Deal with customers face‑to‑face, by phone and email.
• Process plant and tool hire orders and sales.
• Maintain stock and ensure the yard/shop is clean and organised.
• Coordinate daily driver schedules and accommodate additional deliveries efficiently.
• Monitor driver performance, holidays and timekeeping.
• Assist with deliveries during busy periods.
• Ensure vehicles are serviced and have MOTs completed on time.
• Maintain high standards of health & safety and customer service.
• Monitor and improve operational KPIs.
• Support promotional events and new product initiatives.

Required profile

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Experience in logistics, transport planning, plant hire or a similar environment.
• Highly organised with good attention to detail.
• Confident working independently and as part of a team.
• Good IT skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Strong problem‑solving and planning skills.
• Reliable, accountable and focused on delivering excellent customer service.
