Hire Manager – Fixed-Term Contract

About the role

Selwood Limited, the UK’s leading pump‑rental solutions provider, is seeking a Hire Manager for its Dartford branch. This fixed‑term role runs until August 2027 and is responsible for coordinating all hire operations, ensuring customer requests are fulfilled efficiently and profitably.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and manage branch transport and logistics for hire equipment.
• Maintain accurate contract documentation and system paperwork.
• Lead the Hire Team, ensuring they have the resources needed to meet outstanding hire requirements.
• Liaise with operational teams across the hub to guarantee smooth customer service.
• Raise and negotiate charges for damages or losses with customers.
• Communicate sales leads promptly to the Sales Team and contact customers with dormant accounts.
• Provide proactive feedback and ideas to develop the business.

Required profile

• Previous supervisory or managerial experience in a hire/rental environment.
• Proven ability to run a busy hire desk in a fast‑paced setting.
• Experience in logistics, construction, or water utilities is advantageous.
