Hire / Sales Controller

About the role

Selwood Limited, the UK’s leading pump‑rental solutions provider, is expanding its Workington branch. The Hire / Sales Controller will sit at the heart of the pump‑hire operation, acting as the main point of contact for internal stakeholders and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls and emails, taking ownership of enquiries and ensuring timely responses.
• Prepare and issue hire and sales quotations, contracts, purchase orders and invoices.
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, transport documentation and related paperwork in the relevant systems.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure equipment, transport and workforce are available to meet depot and customer requirements.
• Prioritise workload to meet daily customer needs while keeping all administrative tasks up to date.

Required profile

• Confident self‑starter with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Excellent planning, organisational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to build and maintain good customer relationships.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Comfortable using various IT systems for data entry and document management.
