History & Geography Teacher (KS3‑4)

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑regarded independent school in Lewisham to recruit an enthusiastic History and Geography teacher. The role involves delivering engaging lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality History and Geography lessons that promote strong academic progress.
• Encourage analytical, investigative and evaluative skills through interactive classroom activities.
• Monitor, assess and track student progress, providing timely feedback.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
• Participate in enrichment activities, educational visits and the wider life of the school.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and carers to support student achievement.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching both History and Geography in a secondary school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge across the humanities curriculum.
• Excellent classroom management and communication abilities.
• Commitment to high academic standards and student wellbeing.
