History Teacher – Full-time Contractor

About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic History Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons that deepen students’ understanding of key historical events and their relevance today. You will work within our supportive Humanities department to inspire critical thinking and analytical skills.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging History lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
- Teach a range of topics including medieval, modern world, and British history.
- Support GCSE and A-Level History students, developing essay writing and source analysis.
- Assess, track and report on student progress.
- Contribute to curriculum development and participate in enrichment activities such as history clubs, trips and museum visits.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Degree in History or a related Humanities subject.
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for history.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
- Willingness to contribute to wider school life.

- Ability to make historical content engaging and accessible.
- Proficiency in developing students’ analytical and evaluative skills.
