About the role
We are looking for an inspiring History Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Bedford from September 2026. This full‑time, temporary role offers a supportive environment within a large global education network.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess engaging History lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5) in line with the national curriculum.
- Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse needs.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages good behaviour and active participation.
- Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development and school‑wide initiatives.
- Participate in parents' evenings, staff meetings and extracurricular activities.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Previous experience teaching History in a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for History.
- Excellent classroom management and communication abilities.
- Commitment to raising standards and supporting student achievement.
