History Teacher – Secondary School

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic History Teacher to join a reputable secondary school in Leeds. The role starts in September 2026 and offers a full‑time, long‑term placement with the possibility of becoming permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging History lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4, following the National Curriculum.
• Teach a broad range of historical topics, developing students' enquiry skills and critical thinking.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support attainment.
• Prepare students for GCSE History examinations and help them achieve their full potential.
• Contribute to the wider Humanities department and support enrichment activities such as history clubs, educational visits, and themed events.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• A degree in History or a related subject.
• Experience teaching History at secondary level in the UK.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.
