About the role
The school is seeking a motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support the SEN teacher in delivering tailored education to primary‑aged children with special educational needs. This fixed‑term position starts in January 2027 and offers the chance to work closely with pupils on a 1:1 or small‑group basis.
Key responsibilities
- Implement personalised learning plans for SEN students.
- Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet diverse needs.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the SEN teacher.
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that fosters social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Participate in regular reviews, assessments, and professional development activities.
Required profile
- Strong behaviour management abilities.
- Proven experience teaching children with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creative, flexible approach to teaching and learning.
- Organised with the capacity to manage a varied workload.
