Home Ownership Support Adviser

About the role

The Home Ownership Support Adviser will act as the conveyancing specialist within the Home Ownership Support team of a Housing Association. Working on a three‑month temporary contract, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, guiding them through low‑cost home ownership transactions and ensuring smooth progression to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and proactively progress conveyancing transactions, removing obstacles to completion.
• Handle all legal and administrative functions related to property transfer or disposal.
• Manage a complex caseload, prioritising competing demands and meeting strict deadlines.
• Respond to customer enquiries on a range of low‑cost home ownership products.
• Support team inboxes, supervise Home Ownership Support Officers and deliver training sessions.
• Conduct viewings or on‑site visits for the disposal of void units when required.
• Identify and propose service improvements, collaborating with the wider department.
• Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful transactions.
• Monitor policy and legislative changes, ensuring compliance with relevant procedures.
• Promote additional revenue streams such as staircasing, loft conversion, lease extension and loan redemption.
• Accurately record data, meet audit requirements and manage complaints within set timescales.

Required profile

• Experience in conveyancing or property transfer processes, preferably within a housing association.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions and manage a demanding workload.
• Strong customer‑focused attitude with a track record of achieving high satisfaction levels.
• Good understanding of low‑cost home ownership schemes and related legislation.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with residents, stakeholders and internal teams.
