Home Visits Optical Assistant – Flexible Part‑Time

About the role

As a Home Visits Optical Assistant you will travel across South West England delivering eye‑care services directly to patients’ homes. Working part‑time (24 hours per week, Wednesday‑Friday), you will provide optical dispensing and basic eye examinations, bringing professional care to those unable to visit a store.

Key responsibilities

• Visit patients at their homes across Bristol, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath, Northeast Somerset and parts of Wales.
• Perform optical dispensing at all levels, including fitting frames and lenses.
• Conduct basic eye tests and record clinical findings.
• Maintain and calibrate portable optical equipment.
• Ensure health‑ and safety standards are met during each visit.
• Manage appointment schedules and travel routes efficiently.

Required profile

• Current or recent optical experience (6 months to 1 year).
• Ability to dispense confidently at all levels.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Approachable, people‑oriented and motivated to work independently.
