Hospital Chef – Full Time

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Chef to join the catering team at Winfield Hospital, a private facility on the outskirts of Gloucester. The role is full-time (35 hours per week) and involves preparing, cooking and serving meals for patients, staff, consultants and visitors across a 7-day shift pattern.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present a variety of meals in line with hospital standards.
• Work flexibly across rotating shifts, covering all days of the week.
• Maintain and monitor food hygiene and safety regulations at all times.
• Ensure high-quality service throughout the kitchen and dining areas.

Required profile

• Proven experience working as a Chef, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene certification.
• Warm, considerate and empathetic approach to patients and colleagues.
• Ability to make decisions, use initiative and communicate effectively.
• Flexible and positive attitude; experience with the IDDSI framework is desirable.

Required skills

• Food hygiene and safety knowledge (Level 2 certification).
• Understanding of the IDDSI framework for dysphagia diets.
