Hospital Engineer – Glendon Wood Hospital

About the role

This full‑time position supports the brand‑new Glendon Wood Hospital in Kettering, ensuring the facility remains safe, compliant and fully operational. You will act as the primary engineering contact for the hospital, delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical and fire safety systems.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive tasks within agreed Service Level Agreements.
• Carry out statutory inspections, remedial works and first‑line support for medical gases and fire safety systems.
• Liaise with contractors, manage permits and oversee minor repair works.
• Support project management, compliance initiatives and multi‑site on‑call cover.
• Provide holiday and sickness cover as required.

Required profile

• City & Guilds Part 3, HNC, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Post‑apprenticeship maintenance experience, contractor coordination and line‑management exposure.
• Multi‑skilled with a plumbing or electrical bias and strong fault‑finding ability.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, Legionella prevention and MMS systems.
• Excellent communication, organisation and time‑management skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
