Hospitality and Events Porter

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Hospitality and Events Porter to join the Ealing FM and Hospitality & Events teams at LB Ealing. The role supports the delivery of internal and external meetings and events across several council venues, ensuring a smooth, customer‑focused experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist events managers and FM service delivery with event planning and execution by providing efficient portering services.
• Clean, set up and arrange meeting rooms and halls, including furniture, flip‑chart paper and layout verification.
• Maintain daily usage lists, organise notice boards and ensure printing supplies are stocked.
• Set up and demonstrate IT audio‑visual equipment, ensuring correct storage when not in use.
• Prepare stalls, trestle tables and tablecloths for venue bookings.
• Manage deliveries to the back door safely and distribute them efficiently.
• Use cleaning products safely, store them appropriately and report any defects or missing equipment promptly.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good written and spoken communication at all levels.
• Experience of manual handling.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety requirements for events and building services.
• Basic computer knowledge, including use of events software.

What we offer

• £16.60 per hour (PAYE).
• 3‑month fixed‑term contract, 35 hours per week.
• Shift patterns Monday‑Friday (07:00‑14:30 or 12:00‑19:30) with occasional weekend cover.
