Hotel Night Shift Leader

About the role

The Shrewsbury Hotel is seeking a Night Shift Leader to oversee the safe and efficient operation of the hotel overnight. You will be the point of contact for guests, ensuring high standards of service, safety, and compliance throughout the night.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain excellent customer service standards and enforce fire safety procedures.
• Deliver CQSMA standards (cleanliness, quality, service, maintenance, atmosphere) during the night shift.
• Handle reservations, guest enquiries, and any issues that arise.
• Conduct hourly security checks and manage emergency evacuations.
• Complete the duty manager logbook and report all accidents and incidents.
• Ensure compliance with licensing law, trading standards, customs & excise, food hygiene, health and fire safety regulations.

Required profile

• Professional appearance with strong conversational English.
• Excellent customer‑service focus and ability to communicate at all levels.
• Self‑motivated, enthusiastic, and able to work well under pressure.
• Confident handling of emergency or conflict situations.
• Fixed residence reasonably close to the hotel and proof of right to work in the UK.
• Must be over 18 years of age.
