Housekeeper / Laundress for Private Family

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Housekeeper/Laundress to join a friendly family in Brentwood, Essex. Working alongside the Head Housekeeper, you will maintain a large, beautiful property to the highest standards, handling cleaning, laundry and light household duties.
Key responsibilities
- Daily cleaning of all rooms to a high standard
- Washing, ironing and caring for delicate fabrics
- Changing bed linen and resetting rooms
- Light meal preparation such as chopping and heating food
- Answering the door and receiving deliveries
- Assisting with pet care, including large friendly dogs
- Running occasional errands for the family
- Maintaining tidy common areas and organising household supplies
Required profile
- Proven experience in a private household setting
- Reliable, practical and team‑oriented approach
- Strong knowledge of caring for delicate fabrics and materials
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
- Professional, discreet and trustworthy demeanor
- Comfortable around children and pets, especially large dogs
- Valid driving licence (preferred)
- Excellent, verifiable references
What we offer
- Salary £45,000–£55,000 gross per annum
- Flexible working hours (08:00–16:00 or 10:00–18:00) with ability to choose shift
