Housekeeping Assistant (Bank) – Bushey

About the role

We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic Housekeeping Assistant on a bank basis to join our award‑winning team at Elton House Care Home in Watford. You will help maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for our residents.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out all cleaning duties according to worksheet instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of all surfaces, respecting the specific requirements of different materials.
• Handle laundry tasks in a public setting, ensuring high standards of hygiene.
• Respect residents’ dignity, personal space and belongings at all times.

Required profile

• Understanding of Health and Safety, moving and handling, fire safety and COSHH assessments.
• Previous experience cleaning and laundering in a public or care setting.
• Ability to adapt quickly and cover a range of duties on short notice.
• Demonstrated compassion and commitment to high‑quality service.

Required skills

• Knowledge of health‑and‑safety regulations (e.g., COSHH, fire safety).
