Housekeeping Assistant – Brentwood Care Home

About the role

As a Housekeeping Assistant at Brentwood Arches Care Home, you will join a supportive team dedicated to maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents. Your work will directly contribute to the wellbeing and dignity of elderly residents each day.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out all cleaning duties according to worksheet instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of all surfaces, furnishings, and communal areas.
• Handle laundry tasks in a public setting, ensuring garments are cleaned, folded, and stored correctly.
• Respect residents’ personal spaces and belongings, treating them with dignity at all times.
• Follow health and safety guidelines, including moving and handling, fire safety, and COSHH assessments.

Required profile

• Demonstrates compassion and a commitment to high‑quality housekeeping and laundry services.
• Flexible and adaptable, able to cover a range of responsibilities on short notice.
• Upholds the values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable behaviour.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Health and Safety practices, especially moving and handling techniques.
• Understanding of fire safety procedures and COSHH regulations.
• Experience cleaning and laundry in a public or care‑home setting.
