Housekeeping Assistant

About the role

Join a purpose‑built care home that provides residential, dementia, nursing and respite care for up to 60 elderly residents. As a Housekeeping Assistant you will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment while supporting laundry services.

Key responsibilities

• Clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to high hygiene standards.
• Perform laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing, labeling and returning clothing.
• Follow infection‑control, health‑and‑safety and housekeeping procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the wider care team and report any issues promptly.
• Cover alternate weekend shifts as required.

Required profile

• Positive, reliable attitude with strong attention to detail.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection‑control practices is beneficial.
• Previous housekeeping or laundry experience is welcomed but not essential.

• £12.71 per hour on a 35‑hour weekly contract.
