Housing Litigation Solicitor – Newcastle

About the role

Duncan Lewis Solicitors is seeking a qualified Housing Litigation Solicitor to join its Newcastle office. You will work within a nationally recognised housing team, handling a diverse portfolio of landlord and tenant matters across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Report directly to the Department Director and take ownership of all aspects of housing work.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior team members as required.
• Manage a caseload that includes legal‑aid and privately funded matters such as disrepair, eviction, homelessness, debt issues and possession proceedings.
• Represent clients at all court levels, including High Court judicial review matters.
• Prepare and review legal documents, pleadings and correspondence.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor, regulated by the Solicitor’s Regulation Authority.
• Demonstrable experience in housing litigation, both public and private funded.
• Strong advocacy skills with a track record of representing clients in court.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload efficiently and meet tight deadlines.
• Commitment to the firm’s values of diversity, training and client‑centred service.
