Housing Management Solicitor (North London)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified solicitor to lead the housing management legal team for a North London housing trust. The role is temporary, hybrid and offers the opportunity to shape legal services, manage risk and support operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of paralegals, ensuring high‑quality casework and professional development.
• Monitor caseloads, performance indicators and compliance with practice management standards.
• Manage your own portfolio of housing‑related legal cases, flagging high‑risk matters and proposing mitigations.
• Oversee legal spend, evaluate cost‑effectiveness and decide when to settle cases or use panel solicitors.
• Build and maintain relationships with third‑party panel solicitors and internal operational teams.
• Produce business reports, ensure resource coverage during absences and uphold trust values.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor of England and Wales with a current practising certificate.
• Experience in housing management legal matters and associated risk.
• Proven ability to supervise non‑qualified team members and address performance issues.
• Strong understanding of legal spend management and budgeting.

Required skills

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £63.57.
• Hybrid working – 2 days in the office, 3 days remote.
• 35‑hour week, Monday‑Friday 9:00‑17:00.
• Six‑month contract with the possibility of extension.
