Housing Officer – Estates (Part‑time, 20 hrs/week)

About the role

The Council is seeking a part‑time Housing Officer to manage tenancies within a defined area of Blyth. You will act as the main point of contact for residents, delivering tenancy management services and supporting sustainable housing.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver effective tenancy management, including tenancy changes, inspections, breaches and estate management.
• Conduct regular home visits to identify and resolve issues affecting tenancy sustainability.
• Plan and carry out neighbourhood inspections in partnership with residents, councillors, police and local services, and develop action plans to maintain safe, attractive areas.
• Match and allocate properties, arrange accompanied viewings and process new tenancy sign‑ups, including garage tenancies.
• Promote resident engagement at neighbourhood level, attending meetings and activities, including outside normal office hours.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience in social housing or a customer‑focused role.
• Highly motivated and able to work well with others to build strong partnerships.
• Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
