Housing Officer Homeownership

About the role

We are seeking a proactive, customer‑focused Housing Officer to manage homeownership cases across leasehold, freehold and shared ownership portfolios. You will act as the primary point of contact, delivering professional, compliant support throughout the customer’s homeownership journey.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of homeownership cases and serve as the main contact for customers.
• Provide advice on leasehold, freehold and shared ownership matters.
• Maximise income collection by overseeing service charges, ground rent and arrears.
• Respond promptly to enquiries and complaints in a fair, professional manner.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as estates, planned works, sales and customer services.
• Identify vulnerable customers and refer them to specialist support services.
• Support legal action, mediation, court and tribunal processes when required.
• Conduct estate visits and assist with customer engagement activities.
• Recognise safeguarding and domestic abuse concerns and take appropriate action.
• Contribute to projects and continuous service‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in housing management, leasehold management, tenancy management or neighbourhood services.
• Proven debt‑management and arrears‑recovery experience.
• Knowledge of leasehold services and homeownership products.
• Strong communication, negotiation and influencing abilities.
