Housing Reviews Officer – Temporary Full‑Time

About the role

The Housing Reviews Officer will carry out statutory and non‑statutory reviews of housing decisions, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. This is a full‑time, temporary position based in Slough, supporting the council or organisation in delivering fair and legally robust outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct statutory and non‑statutory reviews of housing decisions in line with the Housing Act and Homelessness Reduction Act.
• Investigate cases thoroughly, assessing all evidence and representations.
• Prepare clear, detailed, and legally robust review decisions.
• Liaise with applicants, advocates, solicitors, and partner agencies throughout the review process.
• Maintain accurate case records and produce required reports.
• Identify service improvements and contribute to policy development.
• Represent the council or organisation in meetings and hearings when required.

Required profile

• Experience in reviewing housing decisions or similar casework.
• Good knowledge of the Housing Act, Homelessness Reduction Act and related guidance.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective written communication skills for preparing legal decisions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
