Housing Support Worker

About the role

Join a supported housing service delivering person‑centred support, tenancy sustainment, safeguarding and independent living assistance for people with a range of needs. You will work directly with clients to assess referrals, develop and review living plans, and help them understand their tenancy responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Assess referrals and engage with prospective clients using a person‑centred approach.
• Explain support options, financial obligations, rights and tenancy procedures to clients.
• Agree and regularly review Independent Living Plans and Risk Assessments.
• Deliver contracted support hours through regular contact, follow‑up actions and coordinated wrap‑around support.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with health professionals, partner agencies and key stakeholders.
• Report safeguarding concerns and attend related meetings as required.
• Complete and submit accurate documentation, records and statutory returns on time.
• Handle complaints in line with policy and conduct investigations when necessary.
• Work outside standard office hours when required, following lone‑working procedures.

Required profile

• Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths.
• Experience providing person‑centred support to diverse client groups.
• Ability to work collaboratively with partner agencies, health professionals and internal teams.

Required skills

What we offer

• Salary £25,526 – £26,869 per annum.
• Full‑time permanent contract (35 hours per week, Monday‑Friday).
• On‑site role based in Reading, Berkshire.
