Housing Support Worker – Watford

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Housing Support Worker to join our Watford team on a six‑month fixed‑term contract. You will work directly with residents, helping them maintain their accommodation, develop independent living skills and achieve personal goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide person‑centred support tailored to each resident’s needs.
• Assist residents in sustaining their housing and preventing homelessness.
• Encourage development of life skills, confidence and independence.
• Promote engagement with education, training, employment and community services.
• Complete support plans, risk assessments and accurate case notes.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
• Safeguard vulnerable adults and report concerns in line with policy.

Required profile

• Passionate about supporting vulnerable people.
• Empathetic, patient and resilient.
• Effective communicator with a wide range of people.
• Organised and able to maintain accurate records.
• Flexible to work early and late shifts, including one weekend in three.
• Experience in housing, homelessness or supported living (desirable).
