Housing Support Worker – Young People

About the role

Stonewater is seeking a compassionate Housing Support Worker to assist young people in achieving independent living. You will provide person‑centred, strengths‑based support, helping residents set and reach personal goals while navigating housing and benefit systems.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of young residents, guiding them through referrals, interviews and assessments.
• Deliver one‑to‑one and group sessions focused on empowerment, confidence building and practical life skills.
• Act as the primary point of contact for residents, welcoming them, building trust and monitoring progress.
• Collaborate with specialist agencies such as mental health teams, youth services and housing advisers.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure safeguarding and confidentiality standards are met.

Required profile

• Experience working with vulnerable people, preferably with knowledge of homelessness.
• Understanding of housing and benefits advice.
• Ability to build trust, motivate and foster meaningful relationships.
• Strong communication skills and adaptability to diverse situations.
• Professional integrity, clear boundaries and safeguarding awareness.
