HPLC Field Service Engineer

About the role

Are you a Field Service Engineer with hands‑on HPLC/LC servicing experience looking to join a growing specialist within analytical instrumentation? This role offers the chance to work autonomously across the South of England, supporting customers in pharmaceutical, scientific and analytical laboratory environments.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain, fault‑find and repair HPLC, LC and UHPLC systems.
• Install, commission and calibrate analytical laboratory instrumentation.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Support chromatography equipment including GC, LC‑MS and GC‑MS.
• Work with spectroscopy equipment, laboratory gas generators and wider analytical instrumentation.
• Provide technical support and equipment training to customers.
• Work autonomously across a regional field‑service territory.
• Complete service reports and technical documentation.
• Travel regularly across the UK with overnight stays and occasional European trips.

Required profile

• Hands‑on HPLC, LC or UHPLC service, maintenance and fault‑finding experience.
• Background as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer or in analytical instrumentation.
• Experience with Waters, Agilent, Shimadzu, Thermo Fisher, PerkinElmer or similar equipment (advantageous).
• GC, LC‑MS, GC‑MS, spectroscopy or laboratory gas‑generator experience (advantageous).
• Comfortable working independently and travelling regularly.
• Full UK driving licence.
