HR Administrator – Temporary (2 months) – London

About the role
Our client, a homeless charity, is looking for a proactive HR Administrator to support the team during a two‑month transition period as they move from one HR system to another. The role is hybrid, based in Farringdon, and offers the chance to ensure HR operations run smoothly while supporting staff.
Key responsibilities
- Initiate onboarding processes for new starters, including pre‑employment checks (DBS, Right to Work, references, Occupational Health).
- Process payroll‑related administration for new starters, leavers, contractual changes, parental leave, and benefits such as Salary Finance, childcare vouchers, CycleScheme.
- Produce and manage HR documentation including outgoing references and sickness deduction letters.
- Support absence management by logging sickness, reviewing meeting notes and coordinating Occupational Health referrals.
- Assist with ad‑hoc HR activities such as NJC uplifts, audits (Right to Work, DBS), holiday entitlement updates and purchase orders.
- Provide administrative support for internal and external audits and TUPE due diligence.
- Offer general administrative assistance to the People Directorate Team to keep day‑to‑day HR operations running.
- Support HR systems, including basic troubleshooting during the HRIS platform transition.
- Create and maintain accurate, compliant personnel files in line with data protection requirements.
Required profile
- Experience using administrative systems and procedures on a regular basis.
- Good understanding of core HR policies and processes in a shared services environment (onboarding, contract management, payroll, personnel records, absence reporting).
- Experience working in a busy, customer‑focused environment supporting clients, colleagues or the public.
- Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high‑quality work under competing deadlines.
