HR Advisor – 12 Month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join a dynamic People team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Working hybrid (three days in the office, two days remote), you will provide professional, customer‑focused HR support across a diverse workforce in Merseyside.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied employee‑relations caseload, delivering practical, legally compliant advice.
• Support performance‑management processes, including capability cases and development planning.
• Lead attendance management, monitoring absence and handling return‑to‑work discussions.
• Provide guidance on policies, procedures, employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Build trusted relationships with managers, stakeholders, employee representatives and trade unions.
• Collaborate with operational and corporate teams to ensure a consistent HR service.
• Support recruitment, retention, talent development and apprenticeship initiatives.
• Contribute to people strategies, organisational change programmes and transformation projects.
• Identify learning and development needs and coordinate training solutions.
• Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety, equality, diversity and safeguarding principles.

Required profile

• CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards) or equivalent HR experience.
• Proven experience in a People/HR Advisory role covering employee‑relations matters.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience supporting managers with performance‑management processes.
