HR Advisor – Employee Relations (6‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Oakleaf Partnership is looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join its Peterborough office on a 3‑to‑6‑month fixed‑term contract. The role is hands‑on and operational, with a strong focus on Employee Relations, and will involve managing complex cases from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a high volume of Employee Relations cases end‑to‑end, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance, and investigations.
• Provide expert advice to managers on ER issues, ensuring consistency with policy and UK employment law.
• Lead and support complex and sensitive investigations and hearings.
• Maintain accurate case documentation, produce reports and insights, and identify trends to mitigate risk.
• Collaborate with wider HR teams to deliver a consistent, high‑quality service.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Advisor or similar in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong expertise in Employee Relations and independent case management.
• Solid knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience coaching or mentoring junior HR colleagues.
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
