HR Advisor – Employee Relations & People Partner

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join a collaborative People Team in Bristol. The role involves providing expert advice to managers on employee relations, handling casework, and contributing to wider HR projects that enhance organisational culture and employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional HR advice and guidance on a wide range of employee relations matters.
• Manage employee relations casework, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance and capability issues.
• Ensure HR policies, procedures and employment practices are applied consistently and in line with current legislation.
• Advise on pay, terms and conditions of employment.
• Support organisational change initiatives and broader people projects.
• Build positive working relationships across the organisation as a trusted HR partner.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies, processes and best practice.
• Maintain accurate HR records and ensure GDPR compliance.

Required profile

• CIPD Level 3 qualification (or working towards it) or equivalent HR advisory experience.
• Previous experience in an HR Advisor role, particularly handling employee relations casework.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of employment law, HR policies and GDPR requirements.
• Experience advising on pay, terms and conditions of employment.
• Proven ability to resolve complex employee relations cases with practical, outcome‑focused solutions.
