HR Advisor

About the role

We are supporting an innovative engineering and technology business in Bicester to hire an HR Advisor. The role sits within a growing HR team and works closely with the HR Director and HR Business Partner, offering the chance to influence the full employee lifecycle and progress towards a Business Partner position.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HR advice and guidance to managers across the business.
• Manage employee‑relations cases including absence, disciplinary, grievance, performance and flexible working.
• Support recruitment activities from advising hiring managers to interviewing and onboarding new staff.
• Lead occupational health referrals and return‑to‑work processes.
• Assist performance management and coach managers through challenging conversations.
• Update and improve HR policies and processes.
• Contribute to engagement, wellbeing and people projects.
• Help with salary reviews, bonus administration and international payroll.
• Produce HR reports and analyse people data to identify trends.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an HR Advisor or HR Generalist.
• Strong employee‑relations experience with the ability to manage cases independently.
• Good knowledge of UK employment law.
• Experience supporting recruitment and the broader employee lifecycle.
• Proactive attitude, confident in suggesting improvements and challenging where appropriate.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) is advantageous.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UK employment legislation.
• Familiarity with occupational health and return‑to‑work processes.
• Experience with salary review and bonus administration.
