HR Advisor

About the role

CMA Recruitment Group is partnering with a well‑established engineering organisation in Southampton to recruit an HR Advisor. This role offers the chance to join a growing business known for innovation, quality and employee engagement, working within a supportive HR team.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, contractual changes, and leaver processes
• Acting as a first point of contact for HR‑related queries from managers and employees
• Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring HR documentation is up to date and compliant
• Assisting with performance management processes, probation reviews, absence management, and employee relations matters
• Supporting employee development initiatives and engagement activities across the business
• Producing HR reports and management information to support decision‑making
• Ensuring HR practices remain compliant with employment legislation and company policies
• Contributing to ongoing HR projects and process improvement initiatives

Required profile

• Previous experience in an HR Advisor, HR Coordinator or HR Administration role
• Good understanding of the employee lifecycle and current UK employment legislation
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional and approachable manner
• High levels of confidentiality, discretion and attention to detail
• CIPD Level 3 qualified, studying towards CIPD, or equivalent HR experience (advantageous)
