HR Advisor – Part‑time Flexible

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join our growing HR team in Taunton on a part‑time, flexible basis. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will act as a trusted partner to managers and employees, delivering professional HR advice across the full employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to managers on day‑to‑day HR matters.
• Collaborate with HR Officers to provide effective HR support across the business.
• Take ownership of recruitment activities, supporting managers throughout the hiring process.
• Manage employee relations cases, including disciplinary matters, grievances, performance and absence management.
• Coach and support managers to build confidence in people management.
• Deliver and support training on HR policies, procedures and best practice.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of HR processes and ways of working.
• Support the employee lifecycle from onboarding through to exit.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
• Assist with recruitment administration, shortlisting and interview coordination.
• Support the development and mentoring of HR Officers.
• Participate in and lead ad‑hoc HR projects as required.

Required profile

• Experienced HR professional with a solid generalist background.
• Comfortable managing a range of employee relations cases.
• Confident advising and influencing managers at all levels.
• Knowledgeable in UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
• Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
• CIPD qualified (or working towards qualification) – advantageous.
