HR Advisor – Permanent (FMCG, Glasgow)

About the role

The HR Advisor will provide end‑to‑end support across the employee lifecycle for a well‑established FMCG organisation. Acting as the first point of contact for HR queries, you will ensure policy compliance and deliver accurate advice to employees and managers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive HR support across the employee lifecycle, partnering with regional and global HR teams.
• Respond to HR queries, offering timely and consistent guidance to staff and line managers.
• Advise managers on HR policy, UK employment law and best practice.
• Coordinate HR administration, maintain accurate documentation and ensure GDPR compliance.
• Produce HR reports and metrics to aid business decision‑making.
• Manage absence tracking, liaise with Occupational Health and analyse trends.
• Oversee HR and payroll systems to guarantee data accuracy and payroll alignment.
• Contribute to HR projects, employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills, sound judgement and high confidentiality.
• Collaborative, adaptable and solution‑focused attitude.
• Proactive mindset with genuine interest in supporting HR and business success.
• Good understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Educated to higher level in HR, Business or related field; CIPD Level 5 desirable.
• Experience in a generalist HR role, preferably within a unionised, manufacturing or industrial environment.
