HR Advisor – Professional & Regulated Environment

About the role

We are partnering with a respected professional services organisation in Cheltenham to find an experienced HR Advisor. Working closely with the HR Manager, you will provide high‑quality HR support in a regulated, people‑focused environment, enjoying variety and autonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding and off‑boarding.
• Lead recruitment activities: draft job descriptions, coordinate interviews and provide structured feedback.
• Support managers with employee‑relations matters such as probation reviews, performance management and flexible working requests.
• Deliver and coordinate training and development for managers and employees.
• Manage the annual appraisal process and ensure consistency across departments.
• Assist with monthly payroll, ensuring accurate and timely employee data.
• Promote wellbeing initiatives and support the employee benefits programme.
• Act as the first point of contact for HR queries and maintain the HR diary.
• Review and update HR policies and procedures.
• Provide clear, pragmatic HR advice to managers and employees.
• Support HR projects, including early‑careers and talent development programmes.

Required profile

• CIPD qualified or currently studying.
• Previous experience in an HR Advisor role.
• Background in a professional or regulated sector.
• Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with employees at all levels.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage a varied workload.
